ちょっとは気になる「5G」（前編）

2019年、令和元年、今年も残り4ヶ月！

来年の2020年はオリンピック！

　　

そして時代は「5G」・・・「5G」って最近良く聞きませんか？

5Gは「第5世代」「5th　Generation」のことだそうで、 

今のケータイ（スマホ）に繋がる通信技術の始まりから数えて、

　　

1G：携帯電話：OKバブリー

2G：メール

3G：インターネット通信（iモード/ezWEB等）

4G：動画/ゲーム

　　

では、5Gではどうなるのか？そもそも 5G とはどういったものなのか？

大きな特徴は3つあると言われております。

　　

「通信速度の速さ」と「多数同時接続」と「超低遅延」

簡単に説明すると、「通信速度の速さ」は5Gの4Gの約100倍と言われており、2時間の動画を約4秒でダウンロードでき、「多数同時接続」は、1平方kmあたり100万台という大量の端末と接続できる、「超低遅延」は、従来の約10分の1となる1ミリ秒（0.001秒）程度と言われています。

これら、3つの特徴をあわせて実現することで、5Gはあらゆるモノがインターネットにつながる「IoT」の基盤となることが期待されています。

　　

では、実生活では何がどうなるのでしょうか？

　　

・スタジアムでのスポーツ観戦時など、多くの人が集まる場でも遅延が発生することなく通信が可能！

東京オリンピックのような大規模スポーツイベントでは、スタジアムに来場する利用者の端末に向けてリアルタイムでマルチアングルやリプレイなどの高精細な映像情報を再生できるようなサービスの提供も想定されています。

・今のライブチャットは接続状況によって途切れがちになるが、5Gではリアルタイムでの会話が可能！

・自動車の自動運転が本格化！自動運転システムでは、通信の遅延は命取りです。

・ネットワーク接続された医療機器を利用して診察・診療が可能！

・農業従事者不足が問題になっているが、これも機材の無人・遠隔操作ができるスマート農業化！などです。

　　

そんな良いことだと思う５G時代ですが、ココで大きな問題が・・・
